Facing the hard facts of the data

One of the original reasons I ran for school board was because I was concerned about student achievement. I am an ambassador for high achievement and will work toward that end during my tenure on the board. While I recognize that we have many, many students who do well academically, I also recognize that about 1/3 of our students are struggling and need our support. I am an advocate for strong reading programs, including the correct implementation of those programs.

Even though it’s sometimes hard to face the facts of our data, I will do so, as it is necessary for moving forward. You see, when we know better, we do better – as one reading expert puts it. I want us to do better and will continue to advocate for the success of all our students, including those who need us most. Click on the SOLUTIONS button to see what we can do to help students that need our support.
